Now Accepting Article Submission for IUP Digital Sociology “Engaged Sociology”

I am pleased to announce that the IUP Digital Sociology Committee is accepting submissions for its online publication “Engaged Sociology” from faculty, staff, and undergraduate and graduate students.

Guidelines for submissions by authors are broad as the mission of Engaged Sociology is to highlight a variety of aspects of the IUP Sociology Department, its programs, and members. Questions regarding the submission or acceptable content from authors can be directed to Dr. Christian Vaccaro (cvaccaro@iup.edu).

Engaged Sociology is interested in publishing examples of quality academic works of faculty, staff, and graduate and advanced undergraduate sociology students in long-form and short-form format. Qualifying academic work need not demonstrate new or novel contributions to a field of study be considered for publication. We are interested in publishing quality literature reviews, application of sociological thought to current or local events, think pieces, and editorials and opinion pieces that makes use of sociological terminology or perspective.

Submissions of academic work can be both in short-form (200-2000 words) and long-form (2000-10000 words).

Engaged Sociology is also interested in publishing reports and accounts of faculty, staff, and graduate and undergraduate students engaged in community service projects, consultancies, internships, and careers that relate to the field of sociology.

Submissions of engagement work may range between 100-2500 words.

We encourage applicants to submit multimedia content (photos, videos, and links to news or academic articles, youtube videos, and websites) that complement their submissions.

Submissions will be published on a rolling basis online at wordpress.engagedsociology.com.  Submissions are subjected to editorial review and revision before publication. Authors may be asked to make revisions to manuscripts before publication.
