Representatives from the Mid-Atlantic Research and Training Institute for Community and Behavioral Health met at the home of the renowned Dr. Dennis Daley, who has over 30 years of specialization in the clinical treatment of addiction and co-occurring disorders, to develop preliminary plans for the 2017 MARTI summer conference. It will be held July 10-14, 2017.
Drs. Heckert, Swauger, and Vaccaro as well as the wonderful Crystal Deemer were in attendance to discuss plans for a successful conference.
The general theme of this year’s conference will be “Promoting Recovery and Wellness: For Individuals, Families and Communities” with special focus and attention paid to opiate and opioids addiction as well as suicide.
We are hoping to have a day on Wellness topics, another on Prevention topics, another on Treatment topics, a day on Recovery topics, and the final day would be on “the Future of Medicine” and Self-Care.
Drs. Vaccaro and Swauger will design undergraduate and graduate courses to be run concurrent with the conference sessions.
Would you like to attend or be updated about the conference as our planning progresses?
Do you know of someone who could benefit from a course or continuing education credits?
Or do you have a recommendation for or would like to be a potential speaker?
